Handmade urns and memorial jewellery – a lasting memory in glass
A unique tribute to your loved one – personal, artisanal and made with love.
What Is Cremation Ashes In Glass?
Making a memory tangible – that is the essence of a memorial article in which cremation ashes are processed. With glass memorial jewellery , a small amount of cremation ashes or a lock of hair is carefully incorporated into the jewellery. This is done, for example, by visibly melting the ashes into glass, or by storing them in a hollow space of the jewellery.
Unlike traditional mementos, you can carry a piece of memorial jewellery with you – as a bracelet, pendant, bead or ring. Subtle, but meaningful. A personal expression of love, connection and memory that always travels with you.
Cremation ashes are also processed in a symbolic and artistic way with glass urns . This can be in a hollow form in which the ashes remain visible, or fused in the glass so that it becomes part of the whole. Each piece is handmade and unique, and can be partly tailored to personal preferences in consultation – as far as this is technically and traditionally possible within my working method.
Whether it is a piece of jewellery or an urn: every memorial item is made with the utmost care, attention and respect. Not as a product, but as a personal symbol of remembrance – intended to offer comfort, to connect and to give a lasting place to your loved one.

Why Choose an Ash Jewelry or Urn?
- A lasting, tangible memory
- Personal, stylish and unique
- Traditionally crafted with love and attention
- Symbolism that touches and connects
"A memory to keep with you – close, every day"
Types of Memorial Jewelry & Urns

Women's Memorial Jewelry
The collection of memorial jewellery for women has been put together with love and an eye for detail for women who want to continue to feel a loved one in daily life in a stylish, meaningful way. Each piece of jewelry is created in my studio – each one handmade, where a small amount of cremation ashes or a lock of hair is processed with great care into a subtle charm, pendant or bracelet.
The jewelry is designed to be worn as it feels right for you: close to the skin, visible as a comforting memory or unobtrusively as a powerful secret. There is a choice of different styles and materials, including 925 silver, 14 carat gold, 316 stainless steel (surgical steel), rose plated and gold plated versions. So there is always a piece of jewelry that suits your taste and the memory you want to cherish.
You will not receive mass production but a unique piece of memory that has been crafted with care. Each design is a tangible symbol of love, loss, and belonging, made to last.

Ash-urns & memory figurines
Our glass urns and symbolic commemorative figurines are designed as a tangible tribute to the home – serene, stylish and meaningful. Each design provides a safe space to hold cremation ashes, from a small symbolic part to a larger quantity, depending on the urn.
You can choose from unique shapes such as a crystal drop, a ceramic figurine or a glass object. The cremation ashes can be placed separately in a hollow chamber or permanently fused in the glass, depending on the model. Some variants you can fill yourself, others are processed with care in my workshop.
Thanks to my collaboration with specialized glass artists and glassblowers, there is a wide and special range of handmade urns available – each piece is unique, with an eye for detail and free from mass production. The compact or spacious design makes these urns suitable for any interior, as a lasting memory that radiates peace and connection.

Men's Memorial Jewelry
Since 2018 I have also been designing and making the entire collection of memorial jewelry for men myself. This arose from the desire to offer a stylish and meaningful alternative to the limited range of memorial jewellery that is generally available for men – often mass production and without the possibility to have the jewellery really made to your own liking.
The men’s bracelets in my collection are handmade by me and contain a small amount of cremation ashes or a lock of hair, incorporated into a charm, or subtle bead.
Sustainable materials such as leather, 316 stainless steel (surgical steel), natural stone or glass are used.
Each piece of jewellery is carefully designed for everyday comfort: tough, understated and sincere – as a lasting memory, close by.
Personal & Unique – Urns with meaning

We use professional techniques such as sign foil, sandblasting and durable photo sign foil to apply a name, date, symbol or image. You can choose from a range of carefully selected symbols – from a butterfly to a music clef – which we can process at no extra cost.
Do you have your own idea or a unique design in mind? Then we are happy to discuss the possibilities. We charge an additional fee for custom designs; You will receive a digital proof in advance for assessment.

🔸 Please note: sending cremation ashes or hairs is always done entirely at your own risk – both within the Netherlands and internationally.
We cannot take responsibility for loss, delay or damage during transport, regardless of the shipping method or origin.
Together we look at what is possible
Do you have any questions or doubts about sending it? We are happy to think along with you. In many cases, it is also possible to receive the memorial item empty and fill it yourself with the help of clear instructions and a secure closure system. Please take into account that filling it yourself is at your own risk.
We are happy to listen to which option you prefer and try to adjust the situation accordingly.

Delivery
We strive to process your order as quickly and carefully as possible. Personalized urns and jewelry that are delivered empty are usually shipped within 8 working days.
When your item is manufactured with cremation ashes or a lock of hair, the delivery time of 8 working days only starts once we receive and have checked the material.
In addition, handmade and custom-made urns, which are put together in collaboration with other artists, are made in consultation with you. The delivery time for this is usually about 8 weeks.
We ask you to understand this extra time, which is necessary to create your unique memorial piece with the greatest care and precision.
Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs
Can I have the urns personalized?
Yes, almost all our urns can be personalized. This can be done in different ways, depending on the type of urn. Think of:
Adding a name or short text (e.g. Mom, Grandpa John, or a date)
Applying an image in durable photo sign foil, such as a butterfly, bird, heart or music symbol
By sandblasting
Choosing a specific color scheme or symbolic design in glass
The personalisation takes place with care in our own workshop, where we use high-quality techniques such as professional foil stamping or – in the case of customisation – a combination of several operations. For part of our urn collection, we also work together with other specialized glassblowers and glass artists. This allows us to offer a wide and refined range, in which every design is worked out in detail and with craftsmanship.
Please note: each product indicates which form of personalization is possible. Some urns can be immediately provided with a name and image, while others can be adapted on request.
Do you have specific wishes or are you unsure whether something is possible? Feel free to contact us. We are happy to think along with you about a suitable, personal version of your urn.
I have my own idea for personalization – is that possible?
Yes, that is certainly possible. Do you have your own image, a different symbol, a special color scheme or another specific wish? Then we are happy to think along with you about a personal design.
The following always applies to customization:
Together we look at whether your idea is technically and aesthetically feasible
You will receive a clear quote in advance
For designs where a custom image or symbol must first be digitally edited by us, additional costs are always charged for the computer processing
If possible, you will receive a digital proof in advance for approval, so that you know what the design will look like
Delivery time may be slightly longer than standard personalizations
For fully handmade custom urns – for example with self-chosen colours, shapes, text and decorations – the price is only determined after all details have been discussed and confirmed. This way you always receive a fair and realistic quote, tailored to the unique design.
Customization is only carried out on request and in consultation, so that we can be sure that the end result fully matches your wishes and the memorial item itself.
Do you have something personal in mind? Please feel free to contact us. We are happy to discuss the possibilities and provide insight into costs and planning in advance
Can I show or discuss something before I order?
Certainly, that is even very welcome. Because every memorial piece of jewellery or urn is very personal, we understand very well that you want to discuss or show something before you make a final choice.
Maybe you have a specific idea in mind, a precious object that you want to combine, or you are still hesitating between different colors, styles or symbols. Feel free to provide examples or wishes by e-mail – possibly with photos or a short explanation. We are happy to think along with you about the possibilities, the use of materials and the design.
This way you know exactly what is possible in advance, and together we can work towards a piece of jewelry or urn that really suits you. Feel free to contact us – we are happy to take the time for your story.
How do I know if my assignment has arrived properly and is being processed?
After placing your order, you will automatically receive a confirmation by e-mail. Then, depending on the product chosen, I will send you a personal email with additional information.
This may include, for example:
instructions for the safe packaging and shipping of cremation ashes or a lock of hair;
a request to pass on the desired personalization (such as a name or text for an urn or piece of jewelry);
an overview of the further progress of your order.
This personal e-mail is composed manually and with care. As a result, it can sometimes take up to 48 hours before you receive this message – for example on a weekend, public holiday or when my studio is temporarily closed due to personal circumstances. (often this maximum time will not be the case)
As soon as your shipment with cremation ashes or hairs has arrived at my doorstep, I will also let you know personally by e-mail. This confirmation of receipt can also take up to 24 hours , because I carefully check and register every package. (This is also often earlier because I certainly realize that it is very important for you to know this as soon as possible).
From the moment everything is received in good order, I will keep you informed of receipt and again when it is ready to be shipped. Everything is carried out with the utmost care, respect and attention – from the receipt of your order to the safe return of the end result.
Do you have any questions in the meantime or would you like to discuss something? Please feel free to contact me – I will be happy to take the time to help you personally.
What if I want to cancel or change my order?
As long as your order has not yet been processed, you can cancel or change it without any problem.
Please note that cancellations or changes must always be confirmed in writing by e-mail . Only after my confirmation is the change or cancellation final.
We use a cooling-off period of 24 hours after ordering.
Within this period, you can still cancel or change your order free of charge – provided that the manufacturing process has not yet started.
Important to know:
After these 24 hours, or as soon as the creation process has started, cancellation or modification is no longer possible. This also applies to items with a standard personalized edit, such as an image in sign foil (e.g. a bird) or a name in glass. At that time, the article has already been put into production specifically for you.
Have you opted for a custom design where the design still needs to be discussed? Then cancellation or change is still possible as long as no final choices have been made and production has not yet started.
Are you in doubt or do you want to adjust something? Then always contact us as soon as possible by e-mail. I like to think along with you.
How long does the processing time take?
Delivery time of your memorial item
Once we have received the cremation ashes or lock of hair, your memorial jewelry will usually be made and shipped by hand within 8 working days .
Personalised urns, for example with a name or image in foil stamping, also have a processing time of 8 working days. These are also carefully put together to order for you.
During busy periods it may take a little longer. If that is the case, we will of course let you know in time.
Would you prefer to cancel the order after being notified of a longer processing time? This is possible, as long as your item has not yet been put into production. In that case, you can cancel the order free of charge.
For custom designs that are manufactured in collaboration with our other glassblowers, a longer delivery time applies. In that case, the processing and finishing usually take about 8 weeks, depending on the design and planning of the glass studio.
Can I also have a piece of jewellery or urn made for someone who is still alive, for example as a comfort gift?
Absolutely. A memorial piece of jewellery or mini-urn does not always have to be directly linked to a death. Many people choose to give a symbolic gift now – for example, as a comfort in case of illness, farewell, caregiving, or to support someone during a difficult period.
Even if there are no cremation ashes or lock of hair available (yet), tangible remembrance products can already be made. There are several possibilities:
A hollow blown piece of jewelry can be made that remains empty now, but later – when you are ready – can be filled with, for example, a lock of hair or cremation ashes.
With bracelets, it is possible to add a temporary charm , which is later replaced by an identical model in which the precious element is incorporated.
You can also choose to have a memorial statue with a mini-urn made. The mini urn is then blown hollow and remains empty until you decide to add cremation ashes at a later time.
An urn can be personalized in advance with an image, symbol or name that we carefully choose together. This urn will then be sent empty, so that you can fill it yourself at home later – at a time that feels right for you.
I am happy to think along with you about a suitable form, meaning and time. Everything is made with care and attention, so that the piece of jewelry or memorial item matches the moment you are in now.
Is there a warranty and possibilities for renewal or expansion?
We give a 6-month warranty on every ash jewellery manufactured in our workshop. This warranty applies to both the part in which the cremation ashes or lock of hair is incorporated, and to the materials used such as leather straps, sailrope, chains, closures and other fasteners.
If something goes wrong with the jewelry within the warranty period of 6 months, always contact us first. In this case, we ask for clear photos and a brief description of the problem so that we can assess what is going on. Damage caused by normal use, wear and tear, a fall or careless handling of the jewelry is not covered by the warranty. Minor signs of use, such as scratches or discoloration due to contact with skin or clothing, do not entitle you to free replacement. If it turns out that there is an imperfection in the manual work or a technical error in the finish, we will of course solve this for you free of charge.
The glassware or the memorial charm in which the precious material is fused remains practically undamaged in practice. These parts are manufactured with the utmost care and precision, so that wear and tear is virtually non-existent.
However, it can happen that a leather strap wears out over time, or that a sailrope strap loses some of its color – especially with intensive or daily wear. This falls under normal material consumption and is part of the properties of these materials.
If your jewelry needs a refresh over time, we offer the option of replacing the strap, necklace or clasp – possibly in a different color or style. This gives your jewelry a fresh, renewed look, while the original souvenir charm is preserved.
In that case, you only pay for the new material that is added to the jewellery and – if applicable – for the customisation or adjustment of the jewellery. Keep in mind that the shipping costs for sending and returning the jewelry are for your own account , both within the Netherlands and from abroad.
This is a sustainable and affordable option to give your memorial jewellery a second life – or to adapt it to a new phase of life.
In addition, it regularly happens that an existing piece of jewellery is expanded with a second commemorative charm. For example, if you also want to give a memory of another loved one – such as a second parent or grandparent – a place at a later time. In that case, the original charm remains completely intact and is processed together with the new charm into a new or modified piece of jewelry.
Do you have questions about renewing or expanding your existing memorial jewellery? Feel free to contact us – we are happy to think along with you. Feel free to ask about the possibilities and the corresponding prices. We always make a clear estimate in advance, so that you know exactly where you stand.
Can commemorative items be returned?
📦 Returning memorial items
Although many of our items are custom-made, we still offer the option to return under the following conditions if possible:
Empty urns that have been treated with sign foil and/or photo sign foil
Jewelry and memorial figurines (that have not yet been used or filled)
The above commemorative items can be returned within 14 days of receipt , provided that the item:
is undamaged,
has not been used or filled,
and will be returned in its original condition and packaging.
Memorial items in which cremation ashes or a lock of hair have been processed – both fixed and loose – cannot be returned, not even partially.
Urns and jewelry that have been personalized by sandblasting or deep engraving cannot be returned
You can register your return via e-mail. Cancelling or changing an order is only possible within 24 hours, as long as the creation process has not yet started. This also applies to articles where standard personalized elements are added, such as a bird in sign foil or a name.
🚚 Shipping costs
For customers in the Netherlands:
You pay no shipping costs when you buy. In case of a valid return, the purchase amount will be refunded. The return shipping costs (from you to us) are for the account of the customer. For customers outside the Netherlands:

How can I be sure that it is my ashes/lock of hair that is being incorporated into the jewelry?
That is a fair and important question. Your memories are irreplaceable – and that awareness is always paramount to me.
That is why I work according to a fixed care protocol:
Each package with cremation ashes or lock of hair is immediately labeled with your name and order number upon arrival.
The processing always takes place per order, so never at the same time as other orders.
The material is stored in a separate, closed package until the moment of processing.
During creation, your name and order number will remain visibly present in the work area.
You will receive an e-mail from me as soon as your package with cremation ashes or lock of hair has arrived.
When your memorial item is ready, I will let you know again that it is ready for shipment.
This way, you can stay informed throughout the process.
Because as a craftswoman I carry out all cremation ashes and lock of hair processing myself in my own studio, there is no transfer to others.
You can be completely confident that your cremation ashes and/or lock of hair are in safe hands with me.
I work with the utmost care, hygiene, concentration and respect at all times!
Sometimes customers send a printed photo of their loved one. That is of course completely without obligation, but if you wish, I personally appreciate it very much.
A photo helps me to feel even more connected during the making process.
It makes me feel even more who is behind the assignment – someone who was intensely loved.
Again: this is not an obligation, but a sincere invitation – if it feels right for you.
Would you rather not send a cremation ashes or lock of hair? Then with some jewelry there is also the possibility to fill it yourself at home. Feel free to ask about this.
Is glass safe and strong enough to wear daily as jewelry?
Yes, absolutely. Each glass part of our memorial jewellery is built by hand with the greatest care and expertise on a burner, in my own workshop. I use techniques that have been specially developed for making safe and wearable jewelry from glass.
Hollow jewellery is never completely blown out to the limit, precisely to preserve the massiveness and thus the sturdiness of the glass. This creates a beautiful balance between elegance and strength – resulting in a safe and durable piece of jewellery that is suitable for wear.
After shaping, the glass is finished in a professional glass furnace, in which it is cooled (tempered) in a controlled manner to eliminate internal stresses. This makes the glass extra stable and resistant to daily use. Each piece of jewellery then undergoes careful post-processing and manual checking. Only if it meets my high quality standards will it be shipped.
Although glass seems naturally fragile, it is surprisingly strong due to this method. In my practice, it has been found that the glass part of the jewellery – in which cremation ashes or a lock of hair is fused – is exceptionally resistant to normal daily use. To date, I have never experienced a glass part being damaged or broken during normal wear.
An unexpected knock against a door jamb or a bump against a table top does not have to worry you immediately: the glass is safe to carry, solidly constructed and finished with craftsmanship to withstand a beating.
In addition, glass is not only sturdy and safe, but also beautiful. The light, the depth, the colour – everything contributes to a unique, personal look. In combination with the memory that is incorporated into it, a memorial piece of jewellery is created that is both symbolically and artistically powerful. A small work of art with a big story – made with love, not mass production, but pure craftsmanship.
Can I have a memorial jewellery or urn made with a lock of hair?
Yes, that is certainly possible. Many of our jewelry and mini urns are suitable for processing a strand of hair. This can be done in different ways: for example, in a hollow blown glass charm, in a closed stainless steel charm, or in a mini urn attached to a figurine.
The strand of hair always remains intact – so nothing is burned or melted, unless you specifically opt for processing in glass (and this is technically possible). Usually the strand of hair is placed visibly, possibly in combination with resin or glass, depending on the chosen design.
How does sending hair work?
After your order, you will receive clear instructions on how to send the lock of hair safely and respectfully. A pencil-thick strand of about 5 cm is usually sufficient.
Sending a lock of hair is legal in almost all countries and is also accepted by most transport companies, provided the hair is properly packaged and shipped correctly.
Please note:
The responsibility for shipping always lies with the sender.
We cannot guarantee a problem-free delivery, but are happy to help you with clear and careful instructions.
Before shipping, it is therefore important that you read our shipping instructions carefully. It tells you how to safely pack and ship a strand of hair – to minimize the risk of delay or loss along the way.
Is your jewellery also suitable as a reminder of a deceased animal?
Sure. All our memorial jewellery and mini urns are not only intended for preserving a tangible memory of a deceased person, but also very suitable as a lasting memento of a deceased pet.
Whether it is cremation ashes or a tuft of hair from a dog, cat, horse or other beloved animal – both can be respectfully incorporated into a piece of jewellery or urn.
You can choose a professional processing in my studio, or – if possible – an article that is suitable for filling yourself. In both cases, we work with care, attention and respect to create a unique memorial piece that fits your bond with your animal.
Every assignment is carried out with the utmost care and in a hygienically clean working environment. Cremation ashes and locks of hair are always processed strictly separately, so that mix-up or mixing is completely excluded. You can rest assured that your precious memory is in safe hands with us.
Can I have my jewellery altered later?
Yes, that is possible in many cases. Remembrance jewellery is designed in such a way that it can be adapted or expanded later if desired.
It often happens that an existing piece of jewellery is expanded with a second memorial charm at a later date, for example when another loved one is commemorated. The original charm remains completely intact and is incorporated into a modified design together with the new element.
It is also possible to refresh or adjust the jewelry: a new band, necklace or clasp in a different color or style can provide a renewed look. In this way, the memorial jewellery not only remains meaningful, but also appropriate for you in every phase of life.
For these adjustments, you only pay for the material that is re-added, and – if applicable – the costs of customizing or adjusting the jewelry. You do not have to have the original treatment with cremation ashes or lock of hair remade. Keep in mind that the shipping costs for sending and returning the jewelry are for your own account – both within the Netherlands and from abroad.
Feel free to ask about the possibilities and corresponding prices. We are happy to think along with you.
What happens if my jewellery is damaged outside the warranty period?
Even after the warranty period, we are happy to think along with you if something happens to your memorial jewellery. Wear or damage can occur over time, for example with intensive daily use. Although the glass element itself is very sturdy, other parts such as straps, clasps or chains may need to be replaced over time.
Depending on the situation, in many cases it is possible to have the jewelry repaired or refreshed. Think of replacing a band, repairing a fastener or placing existing memorial charms in a new design.
You then only pay for the necessary material and – if applicable – the costs for customizing or adjusting the jewelry. You do not have to have the original processing of cremation ashes or locks of hair done again. The shipping costs for sending and returning the jewelry are for your own account.
Are you unsure whether something can still be repaired? Feel free to contact us. We look at the possibilities together with you, think along with you in solutions and provide a clear quotation in advance.
Are the memorial items suitable for outdoor placement?
Most of my commemorative items are carefully designed for indoor use. Due to possible and prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions, it may be that they are more likely to damage the outdoors.
Personally, I believe that a commemorative article deserves to be given a safe place indoors – an environment where it is protected and where you can remember in peace.
Only urns made of heavy metal, concrete or rock, which are specially designed for outdoor use and can be firmly attached to a grave or pedestal, are in my opinion suitable for outdoor placement.
Are you unsure about the placement of a particular article? Feel free to contact me. I am happy to think along with you about a suitable and respectful place.
Please note: placement outside is always at your own risk.
Is it safe to send ashes from the Netherlands?
Within the Netherlands, it is legally allowed to send a small amount of cremation ashes by post, as long as this is properly packaged.
However, it is important to know that most carriers – also within the Netherlands – do not officially allow the shipment of cremation ashes in their general terms and conditions.
This also applies to DHL, with which we ship as standard.
The shipment is therefore always done entirely at the customer’s own risk. We cannot accept liability for loss, delay or damage during transport.
After your order you will receive from us:
A shipping label for letterbox parcel post via DHL
Clear instructions for the safe packaging of the cremation ashes
Personal guidance by e-mail, so you know exactly what to expect

Use a sturdy, neutral bubble envelope or letterbox box
Do not write down any information about the contents on the outside of the package
⚠️ Please note: Although we offer a shipping label via DHL to make it easier for you, you as the sender remain fully responsible for the contents, packaging and shipping of the package.
DHL does not officially accept cremation ashes according to their conditions of carriage.

Is it safe to send ashes from countries within the European Union?
In many countries within the European Union, it is legally allowed to send a small amount of cremation ashes, provided this is done in a careful manner.
Exceptions to this are Germany, Austria and France – in these three countries it is forbidden by law to store cremation ashes at home or to process them in a memorial article.
👉 That is why we do not accept the shipment of cremation ashes from Germany, Austria or France.
However, you can order an empty memorial item from these countries that you fill yourself.
The following applies to shipments from other EU countries:
While it is legal to send cremation ashes, many carriers (such as postal and parcel services) do not allow it according to their terms.
Therefore, shipping is always done entirely at the customer’s own risk. We cannot accept liability for loss, delay or damage during transport.

Can I send ashes from any country?
No, unfortunately not. In some countries, it is forbidden by law to store or send cremation ashes at home, even in small quantities. We follow the laws of these countries and therefore do not accept shipments of cremation ashes from certain regions.
We do not accept cremation ashes from these countries:
Germany
Austria
France
In these three countries, it is forbidden by law to store cremation ashes at home or to process them in a piece of jewelry or urn.
We therefore do not accept shipments with cremation ashes from these countries.
On the other hand, you can order an empty memorial item that you can fill yourself.
Shipping is possible from other countries:
Countries within the European Union, provided that local shipping rules and customs regulations are met
The United States, provided that local shipping and customs regulations are met
Other countries outside the EU, provided that local shipping rules and customs regulations are met
Please note: even if it is legal in your country to ship cremation ashes, this does not automatically mean that carriers will accept this.
Many postal and parcel services have excluded cremation ashes in their terms and conditions.
We therefore advise you to always contact your local post office or carrier in advance. They can tell you what is allowed within your country and how you can safely ship to the Netherlands.
The shipment of cremation ashes is always entirely at the customer’s own risk
We do not provide shipping advice or customs forms
We are not liable for loss, delay or refusal of the package by carriers or customs
Sending hairs is always allowed
Shipping a lock of hair is legal in all countries.
Carriers accept hair without objection, because it does not fall under regulated or prohibited substances.
You can safely send a lock of hair in a well-sealed zip lock bag, packed in a sturdy envelope or small letterbox box.
A lock of hair can also be sent from Germany, Austria and France without any problem
You don’t have to specify a value and you don’t have to name the content.

We always advise customers from the Netherlands and abroad to check in advance which rules apply in their own country, province or region.
Each shipper is fully responsible for correct and safe shipping, including compliance with local laws.
What happens to the remaining ashes?
When making a memorial piece of jewelry or urn, we only use a small symbolic amount of cremation ashes — usually a maximum of two teaspoons.
For orders within the Netherlands , we always send back the remaining cremation ashes, together with the completed memorial item. This is carefully packaged, in a separate bag.
For orders outside the Netherlands, the remaining cremation ashes will not be returned.
This is a conscious choice, to minimize risks during the shipping process as much as possible. Think of:
refusal or delay of the package at customs
Risk of loss or damage to the memorial item
By not returning the remaining ashes, we limit these risks to a minimum.
What happens to the remaining cremation ashes sent from abroad?
The remaining cremation ashes are carefully stored in our workshop for up to 6 months. During this period, it is still possible to have an additional commemorative item made with the remaining material.
After this period of 6 months, the cremation ashes will be scattered by me personally on a quiet nature reserve in Brabant, a beautiful and serene nature reserve where we live nearby and often walk. This is done with respect and care.
Would you like to receive a photo of the scattering? Then add a note to the package with cremation ashes, in which you clearly state that you wish to receive a photo. Please include:
Your name
Your phone number
Your email address
Please note: digital requests via e-mail will not be processed for this purpose. Only written requests, which specifically ask about this wish and which are physically added to the package, will be processed.
Do you have any questions or are you unsure about something? Please feel free to contact us. We are happy to think along with you.
What if I don't want to send ashes?
We also offer hollow commemorative products that you can fill yourself at home. This applies to a large selection of urns, mini-urns, memorial figurines and certain types of jewelry. Feel free to contact us for the possibilities where you do not have to send ashes.
Can I also fill my jewelry myself?
In many cases, this is possible, depending on the item chosen.
Our collection consists of commemorative jewelry, urns, mini-urns and commemorative figurines. Some are processed in our workshop, while others are designed to be filled at home. With a self-refillable article, you will not receive glue, but you will:
- a filling set for memorial jewellery and memorial figurines from Willow Tree
- a funnel with a number of urns (not all urns need to be filled with a funnel)
- a closing lid or closing cap
a clear explanation of how to open, fill and close the jewellery or urn in a safe and respectful manner,
personal advice on which sealing agent is suitable (such as a superglue or transparent jewelry glue – available at your drugstore or hardware store).
Please note:
Not every article is suitable for self-filling. Some jewelry is specially designed for permanent processing in which the material is melted or professionally sealed.
Are you unsure whether an item is suitable for self-filling? Please feel free to contact us. I like to think along with you.
Would you rather have everything processed professionally and with the utmost care?
Then I offer a careful processing service in my studio. You only need to send a small amount of cremation ashes or a lock of hair.
Please note: Before shipping, it is important that you read our shipping instructions first. It describes exactly how you can carefully pack the cremation ashes and/or lock of hair – including important points of attention about the restrictions that many carriers apply, and how to minimize the risk of delays or problems along the way.
Sending cremation ashes or a lock of hair is always done entirely at your own risk. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for damage, loss or delay during transport.
Can I have multiple pieces of jewellery made from one bit of ash?
Yes, a small amount of cremation ashes is enough to make several commemorative pieces. Many families choose to divide the ashes among brothers, sisters, parents or close friends. Feel free to let us know how much jewelry you want to have made and what an appropriate amount of cremation ashes goes with it.
What materials are used in the jewelry?
Our jewelry is made from high-quality materials such as 925 sterling silver, 14 carat gold, surgical stainless steel, animal leather, sailrope tape, natural stone, resin and of course the high-quality glass in which cremation ashes or hairs are processed. Each piece is made by hand, with extreme precision and care.
Under the theme ‘Clear answers’, we also explain the properties of different bracelet straps and clasps, so that you can make an informed and personal choice for a memorial piece of jewellery that suits you.
Is the memorial jewellery waterproof?
Yes, most of our memorial jewelry is completely waterproof. This also applies to jewelry that is hollow blown and in which cremation ashes or hairs are placed loose.
That is why I often work with a screw system for hollow jewelry, where a special mounting system is fused into the glass during the making process. This allows the jewelry (or mini-urn) to be sealed firmly and completely airtight and waterproof. In the case of jewellery, this screw system is also carefully glued after installation so that it remains permanently sealed.
To preserve the jewelry, we recommend taking it off while showering, swimming or intensive physical activities. In this way, the piece of jewellery – just like the memory – remains beautiful for years to come.
Is it possible to wear an ash jewellery discreetly, or can it also be a visible statement?
Yes, absolutely. Many ash jewellery jewellery is designed with subtlety and discretion in mind. They resemble ordinary jewellery and contain only a small, invisible or subtly visible compartment for a symbolic amount of cremation ashes or a lock of hair. This way you can carry your loved one close to you in a stylish and personal way, without others having to know what the piece of jewellery means – unless you want to share it yourself. An ash jewellery is therefore an intimate form of memory: visible to those who may see it, and hidden from the outside world if desired.
At the same time, discretion is not the only form of memory. As a glass artist, I also design expressive jewellery that can stand out – so-called ‘statement pieces’ – in which the memory is given a visible and central place. This jewelry tells a story without words: powerful, personal and unique. They are meant not only to be worn, but also to be displayed. A piece of jewellery can also be proudly worn as a tangible ode to the one who is missed – as a visible tribute, an artistic monument for on the wrist or chest. That is precisely what makes memorial jewellery so special: it comes in all forms, from modest and subtle to outspoken and meaningful.
